When Steve told me this May that he can't afford going on holiday right now I thought to myself "ok - then I go to Cuba on a trip" ... but when I looked up the GAP-webpage I found the Arctic-trip 50% off and thought "if I'm not taking this chance, I might regret it". So I booked myself on this trip, got an upgrade with the cabin and lucklily we were just 50 instead of 108 people on board. I flew from Vienna to Oslo and from there to Tromso where we boarded. Just to make it short - food was great, crew was great, expeditionteam was absolutely great - I guess we were bloody lucky with all the animal-viewings and also with the weather. I highly recommand doing a trip up in the Arctic, but as early as possibly because of the lack of the ice.

Als Steve mir im Mai erklärte, das er es sich derzeit nicht leisten kann auf Urlaub zu fahren, dachte ich mir "ok, dann mach ich Kuba" ... aber als ich auf die GAP-Homepage kam und diesen Arktic-Trip um 50% ermässigt fand (einige Zusprüche von ein paar Leuten bekam), dachte ich dann "also wenn ich diese Gelegenheit nicht nutze, dann werd ich das sicherlich ewig bereuen". Also buchte ich, bekam weiteres ein doppeltes Upgrade mit der Kabine und wir waren glücklicherweise nur 50 statt 108 Leute an Bord. Ich flog von Wien nach Oslo und von dort weiter nach Tromso, wo ich aufs Schiff ging. Um es kurz zu fassen: Essen war supergut, die Crew war ausgezeichnet, das Expeditionsteam war sensationell - und ich glaube das wir überhaupt in so einer Glücksphase waren mit unseren Tiersichtungen und auch dem Wetter. Ich kann nur jedem empfehlen mal in die Arktic zu fahren - allerdings so früh wie möglich wegen dem Eis.
