We entered Namibia at Caprivi and drove directly to the Etosha NP. From there along the Huab River to the Skeleton Coast. You are only allowed to drive alone 1/3 of the Skeleton Coast - just the part to Cape Cross and Swakopmund (not the other way to Angola). After Swakopmund we drove to Walvis Bay and from there to Windhoek. There along (mostly gravel roads which is ok for normal cars) to the Namib-Naukluft NP to see the dunes and along to Lüderitz. There starts the "Sperrgebiet" (= prohibited area) for diamond-mining. Then we were heading to the Fish River Canyon and had to decide what to do with the 1 week which we had left (we had 4 weeks in total). Should we go back to South Africa or back to Botswana. We decided to go back to Botswana - went up to Windhoek again and crossed there to the Trans-Kalahari-Highway.

Wir sind von Botswana über den Caprivi-Streifen nach Namibia und direkt in den Etosha NP gefahren. Von dort entlang den Huab Fluss zur Skeleton Küste. Es ist soundso nur erlaubt die Strecke über Cape Cross nach Swakopmund zu fahren - Richtung Angola ist verboten. Von Swakopmund sind wir weiter nach Walvis Bay und dann nach Windhoek. Die meisten Strassen in Namibia sind nicht geteert, steinig oder sandig - aber erlaubt für normale Autos. Von Windhoek sind wir Richtung Namib-Naukluft NP gefahren um die Dünen zu sehen und dann entlang des ganzen Parkes nach Lüderitz. Dort beginnt dann das "Sperrgebiet" für die Diamantenmienen. Weiter gings dann zum Fish River Canyon und dann mussten wir entscheiden, ob wir gleich nach Südafrika fahren und doch nochmals nach Botswana. Wir hatten von 4 Wochen Urlaub noch eine ganze Woche vor uns. Also nochmals rauf nach Windhoek und von dort dann nach Botswana auf den Trans-Kalahari-Highway.
