New Zealand

Two months holidays - yes I made it!! So I started off in New Zealand and arrived after nearly 2 days of flying in Queenstown (South Island) where the tour started. To be honest - it was nice, beautiful, everything - but the weather was sooo bad and soooo many things were cancelled that I don't get overexcited when somebody asks me about New Zealand. Anyway - the route was Queenstown - Fox Glacier - Mount Cook - Franz Josef Glacier - Christchurch - Hokitika - Arthur Pass - Picton. From there we took the ferry to the North Island - Wellington. There we visited Napier - Rotorua - Lake Taupo - (had a traditional Hangi = Maori foodparty) - Whakarewarewa - Coromandel Peninsula - Auckland. I missed so many possibilities for activities and other stuff - what a shame. But what can you do against bad weather. From there I flew to the Fiji Islands to relax.

Zwei Monate Urlaub!! Ich startete nach fast einem 2-tägigen Flug in Neuseeland - Queenstown (auf der Südinsel). Dort begann auch die Tour, die uns weiterführte zum Fox Gletscher - Mount Cook - Franz Josef Gletscher - Christchurch - Hokitika - Arthur Pass - Picton. Von dort fuhren wir mit der Fähre auf die Nordinsel. Von Wellington gings weiter nach Napier - Rotorua - Lake Taupo - (wir hatten auch einen traditionellen Maori Abend mit Hangi) - Whakarewarewa - Coromandel Peninsula- Auckland. Von dort flogh ich dann auf die Fidschis. Ganz ehrlich - Neuseeland ist wunderschön, ganz toll landschaftlich und überhaupt - aber das Wetter war sooo schlecht und es wurde fast alles an Aktivitäten und Besichtigungen deswegen abgesagt, das ich sicherlich nicht mit der Begeisterung über Neuseeland spreche, wie ich es vielleicht sonst würde. Aber gegen schlechtes Wetter im Urlaub kann man leider nichts unternehmen.
